Yesterday Jacob and Tally stopped by. They had bought pizza for dinner for all of us. (More payment for watching Maggie) We really enjoy the pizza and the company.

We finally got our new debit cards! We can now shop at Aldis again!!!

After dinner Grandpa had to leave to go to Mutual. He didn't get very far. Our car started dying, so he came back and luckily made it back in front of our house before it died completely. Jacob and Tally drove him into Nauvoo for Mutual, and Roland gave him a ride home. This morning Bryan, a guy from work that lives here in Hamilton, is giving him a ride to work. After talking to Uncle Dennis, we were told that it probably is the fuel pump. Another blessing is that Great Grandpa and Grandma Pierce said that we could use their car, (the Cadillac) to get around.

We just finished breakfast and Grandpa's ride came to pick him up.

Tonight a couple from our Ward are going to the Temple to be sealed and have their children sealed to them! They went thru yesterday to receive their endowments! We are really excited for them! Now they will be a forever family, sealed for eternity. What a blessing the gospel is. Your parents were all married in the Temple, and were sealed, so that means each of you have a forever family too!

Grandpa is working at the Brigham Young home today. He has some challenging things to accomplish today. There are some door frames and a window sill that needs some painting, but he isn't just painting it, but has to make it look like wood. He has to paint in the wood grain.

It is 54 degrees out already today. It is going to get up into the high 70's today! I wonder if Spring is here to stay?!

I am looking forward to going to the pool again today. My goal is to stay for the full time!

I did it! I made it back to the pool yesterday! It was so nice to get into the pool and exercise again. We didn't stay as long, but it was really nice to be there! After the pool Lisa and I went to do the sauna at Roland and Nanette's. I don't know if I have mentioned that they bought a home that they are having to completely remodel. Yesterday when we got there they were working on the walls in the dining room. They are having to take off layer after layer of wall paper, to get down to the bare walls, which is lath and plaster. It was really cute, even their youngest who is not even 3 was having fun working on the wall. She was doing pretty good getting old wallpaper off.

Lisa and I decided to go to lunch. I took her to the Hamilton Family Restaurant. Which she really enjoyed and wanted to bring her husband back to. To Grandpa and I the food is not the best, tho they have good french fries. I would like to taste their desserts, and pies. We hear they are very good. Anyway we found out that all these restaurants around here that we think are just so - so, are places the people who are from this area really enjoy. It is just the way people like things done here. For me, give me my Lone Star Steakhouse, Village Inn, Golden Corral and I will be happy. But none of these are close by. I did see a Golden Corral in Hannibal, which is about 70 miles away. I haven't been able to find a Village Inn close to us. The Lone Star is about 3 hours away on our way to St Louis, near the airport. An hour away in Quincy we do have an Applebee's and Ruby Tuesday's, and a TGI Friday's. You would think that they would have a Olive Garden, but the nearest Olive Garden is 2 1/2 hours north of us! We do have a Subway, and a Dairy Queen right here in Hamilton which is nice. ("I'm only here for the food." LOL)

When I got home, I noticed that while I was gone Jacob & Tally had been here and they happened to be here when someone had come to drop something by. I felt bad that I missed them and hoped that they would stop by on their way home. Sure enough they did! It was great to visit with them! They had bought a kennel for Buster. Buster really liked it! Maggie sure enjoyed the time she able to spend with her Mommy and Daddy.

It was so pretty outside yesterday! Today is supposed to be another good day. The temperature is forecasted to get up to 70 degrees! That will be nice!

Good morning everyone! Today, I am going to go to the pool!! I am really glad that I have access to a pool. It is a real blessing. I have noticed a difference in that I can move better. I have more flexibility in my arms and legs. Maybe not a lot more endurance, but probably some.

Grandpa is getting ready for work. Buster is laying by my side and Maggie is still sleeping in her kennel. Buster is even in a better mood. Last night when we went to put him to bed he was a little put out and even growled and was nippy. It was a little disappointing as we thought we had him over this. Well we think it boiled down to him being really tired and wanting to sleep where he was snuggled down in the covers between Grandpa and I. Well, we worked with him and got him settled down and he finally went to bed without growling and on his own. This morning he is his lovable self again.

Grandpa is finishing up at the Heber C Kimball home today. They had to move all the furniture to the center of each room so that they could paint and get the floors oiled. Now they will have to move it all back! When they finish up there, they will be starting the Brigham Young home.

I just wanted to mention here that Uncle Douglas, Grandma Pierce's oldest brother, passed away on Thursday. He lives near St George. Grandpa & Grandma Pierce went to stay for three weeks to help out. They got there a few days before Uncle Douglas passed away. When we lived in Texas we lived for a time in Uncle Douglas and Aunt Beth's home while Uncle Douglas was serving as a Mission President. Lots of memories there! His obituary was in the Deseret News yesterday and there is an online book that you can sign.

It is already 6:00pm. I just got home from my church meetings a little bit ago. Grandpa is still at the church counting tithing. Roland and Nanette gave me a ride home. I was so excited that I was able to stay for all my meetings. It was fun to see all the members of the ward, and to see that they are all just great people! I enjoyed Sacrament meeting. Ulla a sister in the Ward who came from Germany, taught our Sunday School class. She did a great job. I love to listen to her speak and hear her accent. Pauline gave the lesson in RS. She always does a great job. She has such a way of saying things. She can have us in stitches one minute and crying the next. It was really great to feel the spirit there.

I was going to try and do the blog this morning, but I just ran out of time. I had to finish the program for church. After that Grandpa and I made an anniversary card to e-mail to Josh and Brenda. By that time it was time for Grandpa to leave for his meetings. Then I had to get myself ready so that I would be ready for when my ride came.

It was beautiful outside this morning, and even up to the time we went to church, but when I came out of the church, it was cloudy and it had really cooled down quite a bit.

Buster and Maggie are both taking naps. I think I might join them!

I am very late getting this done today. One of the first things I did after I got up was to work on the Ward birthday cards again. I started getting more of the address labels done. I had quite a few done and when I went to print one I forgot to press a button to just say I wanted one printed. If I don't press this button, it will automatically print 30 of the same label. So that is what it did, and it printed over the ones I had already printed yesterday. Sooooooo sad. I was very frustrated. I got the cards that needed to get out today out, and on Monday I will get the labels printed again. I had to stop because I was running out of time. Grandpa and I were going to go into Nauvoo to attend a baptism for someone who started investigating the Church about 4 yrs ago. Since then he has gotten married and him and his wife were baptized today! It was a beautiful baptism and it was great to be able to attend.

When we got home Grandpa made us some lunch while I started working on the program for Sacrament meeting tomorrow.

Grandpa is now at the hardware store picking up some parts he needs for our bathroom sink faucet. It has been drip, drip, dripping. The washers had gone bad.

Friday, March 26, 2010

Grandpa just went out to get breakfast. He will be having cold cereal this morning. I will have to remember to put his hot cereal on today!

It is only 28 degrees outside right now. We were in the 50's yesterday and last night we went down to 25 degrees. Today we are going to be in the mid 50's again but then tonight will be warmer than last night, we are not supposed to get lower than 36 degrees. Also, today is going to be sunny! That will be nice!

I am feeling better, so I am planning on getting back to the pool today. Wow, it has been a whole week since I have been to the pool!

Last night Grandpa and I watched a movie on the computer. ***Pajama Party (1:25:27)
Sent to Earth to prepare an Invasion, a Martian scout lands amidst a swim party and tries to convince everyone he is who he says he is.*** It was one that came out in 1964 (I was only 4 yrs old). Annette Funicello, had one of the lead roles. I remember watching movies with these same actors in it. I don't remember seeing this one. Pajama Party was as silly as the others! It is interesting to see how movies have evolved thru the years!

Grandpa will be finishing up the Heber C Kimball house today. He does great work!

Thursday, March 25, 2010

It rained most of the night here. But not a hard rain or anything. We are supposed to get more rain off and on thru the day, but it if we do get rain it should be a light rain. Yesterday Colorado got a huge snowstorm! I think we are finally done with snow. This week we are to be up in the 50's during the days!

I didn't make it to the pool yesterday. One of the new rx's that the dr. gave me has been causing me to be very tired and not be able to stand up very well. I talked to him yesterday and he said that I could lower the dose back down and that should really help. By Friday, I should be able to go to the pool again!

Grandpa had no meetings yesterday, so we just had a nice relaxing evening. For dinner we had salmon, and salad (with no lettuce) topped with bleu cheese dressing. We had a drink of Kefir. It is similar to yogurt. It is supposed to be really good for you. We make it up like a fruit smoothie. For dessert we had apple pie and ice cream. It was a nice dinner.

Today I need to finish the ward's birthday cards for April. I will have to remember to change out the ink cartridge first.

Grandpa will be working on the Heber C Kimball home again. He will be doing some touch up there. He will also be starting to oil the floors today.

As we were going over things on the calendar we realized that Monday we are having a FHE here. A potluck game night. So far we have only envited one couple. We need to figure out what we are doing!

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

Here it is Wednesday morning again already. It seems that the days are just flying by.
Today Grandpa is going to go work on the Heber C Kimball home. He will be starting his work there today on a window sill. He needs to repaint a window, and refinish two handrails.

I was able to get my Visiting Teaching letters made and sent off yesterday. I got halfway thru the April birthday cards for the Ward, and the yellow on the ink cartridge ran out. It is very sad that it still had more of the other colors but the yellow was completely out. By this time I was completely exhausted so I stopped for the day and decided to rest. About that time Glenda came to see what she could do to help out. She brought a sandwich from Subway's for me. It was great and after I ate I was so tired that I couldn't even stay awake! I felt so bad. Glenda did a few things and then she left. I more or less just slept until Grandpa got home.

Today I am planning on going to the pool. Since I didn't go on Monday, I really need to get back there today.

Great Grandpa and Grandma Pierce are flying into Utah today. They will be in St George. Uncle Douglas, (Great Grandma's brother) is not doing well and is not expected to live much longer. They are planning on staying there for about 3 weeks.

On Monday of this week Uncle Robert had to have another stent put in his heart. It is a good thing that the guys at the fire station where he works are on top of things and noticed that he didn't look so well and made him go to the hospital.

Today is going to be a big day for Nicholas, for Rachael and Jason too. Today is when Nicholas has his evaluation. We will be thinking of you today, and waiting to hear all about it!

Grandpa and I are just finishing up breakfast now and are getting ready to have scriptures before he has to head off to work for the day.

We hope that you all have a really good day and that things go well for everyone! :)

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

Yesterday Grandpa got off work at 11:00am so that we could go down and visit with Jacob and Tally at the Hospital, and see how Tally was doing after surgery. Our plan was to leave as soon as Grandpa got home, but that didn't work because it takes more time when 2 dogs need to go out to potty than one. Plus just getting ourselves ready. I was doing better yesterday, but still a little wobbly. We had to stop at our pharmacy here in Hamilton, and then the post office. On our way down to the hospital, after we had made the stops we needed to, we called and asked if Jacob and Tally wanted anything. Then we stopped and picked up some things for them. So, by the time we actually got to the hospital it was 2:30pm! We got up to the floor Tally was on they said that visiting hrs didn't start again until 4:00pm. We told the nurse that they were expecting us. Well, Tally's nurse said that we could come in but we needed to be quiet as this was the time that was scheduled for the women on this floor to be able to have naps. We thanked her and we quietly went to Tally's room. We had a nice visit with Jacob and Tally. Tally looked really good for just having surgery, but when she had to move it was very painful. Besides the pain, the medication that they gave her to help with the pain had a very annoying side effect; it made her itch really bad!

Before Grandpa left work yesterday he was able to get all the furniture back in place in the Wilford Woodruff home. He also took a dry mop and and dry mopped all the wet spots out of the floor. He then went to Heber C Kimball home and started on things there. He sanded down the handrail so that he could put a lacquer finish on it today.

Today is YM & YW. Grandpa goes to the activities because he is in the Bishopric. He really enjoys being able to spend time with the Youth. We have a good group of Youth in our ward. Grandpa has stewardship over the Young Women, and the Deacons.

Today, I need to get the Ward birthday cards done for next month, and I really need to make and send off the Visiting Teaching message to the 3 sisters on my letter route.

Monday, March 22, 2010

Today is Monday, the day of Tally's surgery. Jacob and Tally are on there way down to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, as I am typing this. Our thoughts and prayers, and love go with them, "We love you!" Tally is scheduled for surgery at 6:00 am. Grandpa is going to pick me up just before noon and then we are going to head down there. It is amazing to me how flexible a person needs to be in life so that you don't get frustrated, and upset all the time. My original plan was to go down with Jacob and Tally, but because of how things were with me yesterday, and how I feel this morning, we had to make the change I mentioned.

Buster and Maggie have already been up and gone outside to take care of things there. Maggie is back in her kennel, and Buster is in here sleeping. When we finish with breakfast we will bring Maggie in here. She wants to eat our breakfast, and Jacob and Tally told us that we can't feed her any people food, so for breakfast this morning we will let her stay in her kennel until the food is gone and then she can be in here. Maggie and Buster are doing pretty good together. Buster is a little mixed up right now. I didn't realize how much Buster likes his routine of things, until Maggie came. But he is doing ok with the changes, and Maggie, is adjusting to the changes too. Yesterday, when Maggie was sitting next to me, I realized that she has eyelashes! Yep, that is why she can bat those pretty eyes at you and melt your heart!

First thing this morning Grandpa has to go to the Wilford Woodruff home, to put the furniture back in place and make sure the floors are all dried and there are no slick spots. Then he will be headed over to over to the Heber C Kimball home to start the process there!

Sunday, March 21, 2010

Our lunch at the Fuji restaurant in Quincy was alot of fun. The food was really good, and we really enjoyed being with Jacob & Tally, and Joe & Jennifer. We decided that we need to plan a game night together next.

Grandpa and I stayed in Quincy after lunch so that we could run a few errands. It was nice to be able to spend this time with Grandpa. When we were about 10 minutes from getting home we called Jacob and Tally so that they could head to our house to drop Maggie off so that she could start her sleep over. Buster and Maggie enjoy playing together, so they should really enjoy for the next 2 weeks.

Grandpa is studying an article in the New Era. He has been asked to do the Sunday Evening Discussion with the Youth.

I am not feeling well this morning. So I am resting right now.

We still need to get the program printed up. It is mostly done. We just need to make sure all the spelling is correct and we haven't forgotten anything before we print it up.

Today is our Ward Conference. Our Bishop and Stake President are going to be the speakers. It will be really a great meeting.

Saturday, March 20, 2010

Yesterday was a fun day. I did go swimming. I used a water noodle in the pool and that worked really well. We did end at 45 minutes instead of going the full hour, but that was ok. When we went to Nanette's to use the sauna, we had a drink of her smoothie, that she used Ke`fir in. Ke`fir is like a yogurt culture. Nanette gave me a start of it the other day. She told me mine would be ready to use. Lisa came back here so she could look thru all those clothes. I had given her some movies to watch, but her VCR was broken so she brought it back. So what we did was put the movie in to watch while she went thru all the clothes (The movie we watched was IQ, one of my favorites). I called another friend to come over to pick out what she could use. I made Lisa and I some lunch. (My other friend had already eaten) It was a really fun afternoon! I was exhausted by the time they left and felt a real need for my oxygen and a nap, but before my nap I made up the Ke`fir smoothie, putting some frozen fruit, bananas, about 3 tblsp of frozen orange juice concentrate, and some honey with it and putting it all in the blender! Later in the evening another friend came over and she went thru the clothes. Jacob and Tally stopped by, they had picked me up some cinnamon candies. (To help me stay awake in church, shhhh). Jacob checked thru the bags to see if there was anything that Tally could use, but he didn't find anything, so they left for home. Grandpa put in a frozen pizza for dinner. We all talked and ate pizza, drank the smoothies, and laughed, as Robin went thru the clothes and picked out the things she could use. With all the clothes I have chosen to keep, Grandpa had a mountain of wash to do this week. He started the wash last night and already this morning he is about finished.

Today we have fun plans. Jacob and Tally, Joe and Jennifer (Tally's parents), and Grandpa and I are going out to lunch together. We are going down to Quincy to a restaurant like the Benihana's in Utah. We are really looking forward to it!

Jacob and Tally are going to be bringing Maggie over later on today. Maggie will be staying here for 2 weeks while Tally recovers some from her surgery. Buster and Maggie are good friends and they will have lots of fun together!

It is snowing outside today! Right now it is really coming down!! I hope that we can still make it to Quincy! Grandpa says that it is not really sticking to the roads. This silly weather! It was up in the 60's yesterday, and now we have snow!!! Crazy, huh?

Friday, March 19, 2010

This morning when the alarm clock went off, and it was time to get up, none of us wanted to get up. Buster is still asleep! He usually jumps right up on the bed, but this morning he decided to just stay asleep.

Yesterday, Grandpa worked on the Wilford Woodruff home. Today he will be finishing up there, by oiling the floors. In the basement, at the Wilford Woodruff home there is a low door frame, and Grandpa smacked his head on it two different times! Ouch, now that is gonna hurt. It does, he has a goose egg on the top of his head!

When Grandpa got home from work, we went grocery shopping. Well at Aldi's,one of our favorite stores to grocery shop, we found they only takes cash, or Debit cards, not Visa, or checks. We found out after we had a cart loaded with food. So we just put everything back and then went to Walmart. I was very disappointed. There are certian things that I like to get at Aldi's, besides they are alot cheaper too. As you can tell by this, we still don't have our new cards yet.

It was nice to get out yesterday. We took Buster with us. He did really well. Much better than the last time he went!

I am really looking forward to going to the pool today! Monday we shortened our time in the pool because I wasn't feeling well, and Wednesday, we didn't even get to go, so it will be good to get back in the pool again!

Thursday, March 18, 2010

Yesterday I just stayed home. I just really didn't feel good in the morning. By the afternoon I was feeling better though. Great Grandpa and Grandma Pierce dropped off some clothes that need to find a home. There are at least 12 large garbage bags full! So I spent about 4 1/2 hours going thru all the bags!! I did find some nice things that I can wear. The things I took, didn't even make much of a dent out of the amount of clothes, but doubled my wardrobe! In one of the bags was a doggie sweater. I put it on Buster. He loves it and doesn't want me to take it off him. I just put it on him to see if it would fit, I didn't know he would want to wear it!

The activity for the Youth this week, was to go do Baptisms for the Dead. Grandpa went with the Youth. It is always a special thing to be able to go to the Temple!

Grandpa is still working on the Wilford Woodruff home. He is going to finish up there today, and then he will be starting the Heber C Kimball home.

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Here it is Wednesday morning and we are already halfway thru the week!

Grandpa said that he spent most of the day yesterday patching walls in the Wilford Woodruff Home. He said that he did get to start putting primer on some of the walls. Today Grandpa will be doing more of the same, but he will probably get to start painting.

I started my day out going to use the sauna at Roland and Nanette's home. Lisa picked me up at 8:00 am. When we were over there Nanatte gave us something to drink that had something in it that is like yogurt but not yogurt. I don't know if it was just coincidence, but the nausea I have been having for over 2 weeks is gone! I am going to have to find out what was in it and see if I can get me some! She made it up like a smoothie with a banana and orange juice. In the afternoon I had an appt with Dr Joe. He is also Tally's dad. Well anyway Grandpa took me in to see him. Dr Joe gave me a couple of medicines to try to see if they will make me feel better.

After my appt. we came home and ate dinner (our leftovers from "First Wok", yummy!) then Grandpa went home teaching. He had two visits to make. Grandpa really enjoys visiting is Home Teaching families. One of the families he visits has a boy who is about 10, his name is Nicholas. Nicholas sent a little toy chicken car home with Grandpa to give to me, for an Easter gift. It was really sweet!

Grandpa is reading out loud from the Book of Mormon. We are in Alma chapter 5. We love to read the Book of Mormon. :) Now Grandpa is reading from "Preach My Gospel" Our Stake Presidency gives us a theme each year. This year our theme is found in the fourth chaper of Preach My Gospel. This chapter talks about recognizing the Spirit.

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Grandpa will be working on the Wilford Woodruff home again today, maybe the rest of the week. There is alot more work than just the windowsills and oiling the floors. He was working on walls and repairing the edges around the fireplace too. Grandpa was scheduled to work at the Heber C Kimball home this week, but they will have reschedule it for another time.

Yesterday morning I got a call from a friend who needed to print something up and then fax it. She came before I left for the pool. I didn't swim as long at the pool yesterday, because I just wasn't feeling really well and I kept chilling. Lisa said that it would be ok with her if we quit early. By the time I got home I had just enough time to have some lunch and rest for a few minutes before my Visiting Teachers came. We had a nice visit. After they left then Jacob and Tally and Maggie came. Maggie stayed here while they went grocery shopping. Buster and Maggie had alot of fun playing together.

Grandpa got home from work in enough time to say hi to Jacob and Tally before they went shopping. After Jacob and Tally left, Grandpa went to get gas in his car, and to pick up dinner from one of our favorite places, "First Wok". They really have great food, and the price is good too. When he went to pay for his gas, his credit card was denied! When he got home we called the bank and found out that there was a purchase on our credit card that was red flagged because it showed up as something out of the ordinary. It was to a membership for a really bad site on the computer. We sure didn't purchase that! The man at the Bank said that when a purchase comes up that is way out of the ordinary they will block the credit card until things are resolved. Since we didn't buy that subscription, they told us they would take the purchase off, and not let anything else go thru on that card and would issue us new cards and we should be fine again. He said that we will have to sign a paper and have it notarized saying we didn't buy that, and send it back in before the charge will be removed from our account. We are so glad that they have these safeguards in place so that we are protected against things like that!

Monday, March 15, 2010

It is Monday. The start of a new work week for Grandpa. He is out in the kitchen fixing breakfast. He has to have cold cereal today. I try and do his hot cereal, but he ran out a few days ago, and I haven't gotten it done yet. I use our rice cooker and it is so nice. I put in six cups of water, three cups of the rolled 6 grains cereal, a little salt and a couple of tablespoons butter, and two full cups of raisins. I stir it and put the lid on the cooker plug it in, turn it on and in about 20 minutes it is done! Then I just pour it in a round covered casserole dish and put it in the fridge. Then when grandpa goes out to make breakfast, he just has to heat up a portion and add milk. But today the mush was all gone like I said and he has to settle for cold cereal.

Today Grandpa will be working on the Wilford Woodruff home. There is alot of damage in the windowsills that needs to be repaired. He is going to have to ask one the the other painters to come and help him because they have a limited time to be in there. When they get the windows done the floors are going to have to be oiled there too.

I get to go to the pool this morning. The orthopedic dr. said that I could go to the pool if I don't do jumping and jogging. So I will have to change up my routine. I just float so it will be easy to change up things for me, but Lisa will need to use a water noodle. She may want to do the jogging and jumping exercises because they work better for her. So instead of leading her in the routines, we both may be doing our own stuffs for awhile. We will just have to wait and see.

Sunday, March 14, 2010

My heart is so full. We have been so spiritually fed yesterday and today! Wow, I tell you what WOW! It was beyond WONDERFUL! Elder Holland and Elder Hansen were our visiting General Authorities for our Stake Conference. Grandpa started his meetings at 3:30pm. I got to join in for the Adult meeting at 6:00. Everyone who spoke, spoke from the heart, and had a great spirit. Elder Holland stood and said that he had decided not to give the talk he planned. He wanted us to think of him as though he was in our own living room. One of the analogies he gave was as we are members of the the church we are in a boat. He said, "Don't you dare jump out!" Today he finished his talk with an Apostalic blessing. He said to think of him as if his hands were placed upon each of our heads. Because he said that this blessing can go to those that we feel we would like to have it, we send it to you. Because our family is the dearest thing we have on earth. We love each one of you!

Buster was very happy to see us when we got home. Our home teachers are coming in just over an hour. Brother Spurgeon said that he is looking forward to visiting with Buster. He really likes Buster!

Grandpa is out making our lunch. Buster just came in to get some "loves."

Thank you all for being such a wonderful family! You make our life great!

We are so happy that Nicholas' surgery went so well!!!

My appt at the dr went well too. The dr gave me a shot in my knee and said that it would take a while before it takes effect. Then he sent me over for more x-rays. We didn't hear anything back from him so I guess everything is ok. I was instructed that I could go to the pool but I can't jog in the pool. I will have to make some adjustments but at least I can still go.

We didn't get home until lunchtime, so we ate lunch and then Grandpa went to work. Grandpa started at Lyon Drug where he mopped up the floors. Then he went to the Cultural Hall and worked there.

This morning we we slept in. Now Grandpa is out in the kitchen making us breakfast. Buster is in the living room on his favorite chair waiting for him to finish.

Grandpa has lots of meetings today. They start at 3:30 this afternoon. At 6:00 I will join him for the adult meeting of our Stake Conference. I am looking forward to this meeting. The Saturday evening meeting of Stake Conference is always good.

Friday, March 12, 2010

Today is Nicholas' surgery. Our thoughts and prayers will be with all of their family today.

Yesterday Tally had her pre-op. We watched Maggie while her and Jacob went down to Quincy for the appt. Buster and Maggie get along good together now. I think things will work out fine for when Tally has her surgery and we watch Maggie for the 2 wks while Tally recovers.

Yesterday was our RS Birthday dinner, but by that time my body was just not doing well. I felt bad that I didn't get to go. Glenda was so sweet. Last night she dropped off a plate for Grandpa and I of the food they had.

Today I have my appt. Grandpa didn't go into work this morning so that he could take me. It was nice sleeping in an extra hour, and it is especially nice having Grandpa here with me. He will have to go back to work after we get back from my appt. though.

It is supposed to be a rainy day today. Grandpa just went to take Buster out potty. He didn't come right back and I was beginning to wonder where he went. Then I heard a garbage truck and realized, he was probably hurrying to get our garbage out before they come to our house! I was wrong. Grandpa said that we didn't have enough garbage to put out. He was just out watching Buster and enjoying the morning air.

I had to stop writing so that I could help my friend with a project. We got it finished and she really liked it.

When Grandpa goes back to work today, he has to go check on the floors he did to see if they are dry. When he got everything done he could do at Lyon Drug, he went over to the Cultural Hall to work on a window there. Today he will finish up the window, and there is a door on the back of the Cultural Hall that needs repaired and painted.

This weekend is our Stake Conference. Our Stake President has asked that we try and attend the Temple today. We are hoping that my body will be ok this evening so that we will be able to go. We have two General Authorities who are here. Elder Holland, and Elder Hansen.
Well, I have to finish getting ready for my appt. It is about time to leave.

As you can see we added a new element to our blog. We want everyone to be aware of things we all have going, so that we can support each other thu these things! So if you have things that need to be posted let us know!

I am getting started alot later than usual today. I had some other computer projects that I was working on. So Grandpa has already left for work. He said that today he was going to be finishing up at Lyon Drug. He still has to oil the floors.

We are supposed to have more thunderstorms today. Yesterday evening they were really weird! Buster did not want to go out and go potty before he went to sleep last night, but finally, I was able to coax him out.

I really don't know if I have anything planned or not for the day. Lisa talked to me about starting to go to do the infared spa at Roland and Nanette's at 8:00 am on the days that we don't go to the pool, but I don't know if we actually decided that is what we are going to do or if we were just decussing the possibility. So I guess I should be ready just in case. Also, I am not sure if Glenda is coming over today to finish her project on the computer this morning. Boy, I really should find out, and finalize things better! Whew!

Grandpa filled up the birdfeeder yesterday, and the birds are very happy about that! It wasn't long after he got it filled that the birds started coming to eat the food!

Tally goes in this afternoon for her pre-op. Her doctor is down in Quincy. That is about an hours drive from here, so about an hour and a half drive from their house. They have lots of questions for Tally's dr. So, I hope that when they come back from the appt. they will have lots of answers!

Buster is curled up sleeping at my side this morning while I am typing away. I am glad he is in here, because if he goes in the living room at this time he thinks that he needs to bark at anyone or anything that goes by our house. He is such a silly puppy. (Well we all know that he is full grown, but he is little and we don't want to offend him by calling him a dog. So, he is a "puppy".

Grandpa and I just want you all to know that we love you and feel very blessed that we all can be a family!!!

Well I didn't make it to lands and records yesterday, but I will go soon. When Glenda came over I helped her with some computer things and then we went on her facebook site and I showed her some things about using it. The picture that she had on her profile page, you couldn't even tell it was her, so I showed her how easy it was to upload a picture. Well, we had to take a picture first. I opened up this program on my laptop and as we started using it we realized it could take all sorts of funny pictures. As we were taking pictures and laughing, Buster decided he wanted to be a part of it too. We laughed so hard. When Grandpa came home I showed him the program and we took a picture of us.

Grandpa finished at the Riser Boot Shop yesterday and is going to be moving on to Lyon Drug and Variety Store. He has to check all the window sills and the doors for dry rot, and he has to oil the floors.

This morning when I looked at the temperature I noticed that it was 51 degrees out!!!! All I can say is WAHOO!!!! I am so excited for the warmer weather! This is wonderful. With the warmer weather comes a change in what Grandpa does too, soon he will be painting the outside of the buildings on the sites. He loves this where he is outside and can see nature all day. The birds, the horses, the trees, and flowers, the deer, and the squirrels, and just all the beautiful things here in Nauvoo.

Good morning family. Again I am typing in the blog and Grandpa is getting ready for work. Buster is waiting for Grandpa to go out to make breakfast so that he can get something to eat too. Buster loves to eat. We found out that he loves raisins. So I keep raisins close by so that I can give him a treat. But I have to be careful not to give him too many, so we limit him to just 3 raisins at a time.

I finally started to feel better yesterday afternoon. It is so nice to be able to be up and doing things again.

Jacob and Tally stopped by yesterday on their way to go grocery shopping at Walmart. They dropped Maggie off so that she could have more time here to prepare her for when she will be staying when Tally has her surgery. Maggie and Buster did really well. They played together, and at one point each were sitting on a chair in the living room waiting for Grandpa to come home. Maggie was sitting on the blue chair, the one that matches the couch. Buster was sitting on the mauve recliner chair. It was really cute.

I spent time on the computer in the office looking up names of ancestors that may have come thru Nauvoo. After a short time Grandpa suggested that I go into our room and use the laptop so that my legs wouldn't swell so much. When I tried to get back onto the site using my laptop, it kept kicking me back out. It did this again and again. Then I remembered Sister Biesk, the same sister who gives me a ride to church on Sunday, has been called to help people with problems with this site. So I gave her a call and she walked me thru a few steps and we were able to figure out what the problem was! I have a lot of things I want to check on. Some things listed there really need to be researched out! Today I am hoping to have the chance to take the names of those that I think came here to Nauvoo, and go to the Lands and Records Office in Nauvoo and get some information on them. Glenda, my VT who comes here on Tuesdays to help me out, is going to go to the Temple today to do baptisms for the dead. She said that she could drop me off at the Lands and Records office on her way. I am really looking forward to doing this!

Grandpa is going to be working on Riser Boot Shop today. There was a list taped on the wall and when they took the list down it pulled the paint off with the tape, so he needs to repair and paint the wall, he also needs to paint the handrail and the stairs and to oil the floor, and he needs to do some touch-up throughout the building. There is always alot of work for Grandpa to do each day, and he loves it!

Monday, March 8, 2010

It is Monday morning, the start of a new week. Grandpa is feeling much better and is getting ready for work; he is hoping to be able to finish up the Lucy Mack Smith home today. The door that he patched up is going to have to be replaced because it is in such bad shape. They can't just go to the store and buy a new door, they have to build and paint a new one!

I seem to be doing pretty good and I hope that I am going to be able to get myself together to go to the pool. Buster was slow waking up this morning and we were wondering if he was getting sick, but he just must been extra tired, because he is acting fine now.

It is already 35 degrees this morning and it is supposed to get up to 53. Now that is wierd. For a person who is dyslexic this may be confusing. :) Anyway, it is so exciting to see temperatures in the 50's again.

By the time we end our scripture reading this morning we will be starting in the book of Alma. Grandpa and I love to read the Book of Mormon. There are so many wonderful examples of those who believe in and follow our Savior Jesus Christ. We are grateful for their examples and their testimonies. We are so blessed to be members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Jesus is our Savior, He is the Son of God. Our Heavenly Father loves us! We are His children. He will bless our lives! He wants us to succeed. He wants us to return to live with Him again. We can pray for help, and He will hear our every prayer! Grandpa and I love each of you and feel very blessed that we are a family!

Have a great day and remember that you are never alone. We pray for you all continually!

Sunday, March 7, 2010

This morning it was raining here, not snowing! We are supposed to get scattered rain showers off and on for the next couple of days. It looks like it might actually be turning into spring! In fact this week we may get up to 50 degrees!!! Wahoo!

Another great thing about today is that it is Sunday! I love Sunday. But today I may not get to go to Church. Grandpa is feeling much better today, but I am still chilling and not feeling well. It would be great if things came together in the next hour so that I can go. I love to go to church. It really makes me happy, and I love to feel the spirit there. Grandpa went to heat up the rice bags to warm me up to see if that will help! Grandpa is such a great man!

Grandpa and I are watching "The Spoken Word". It is a nice way to get into the spirit of the day.

Hope you all have a wonderful Sabbath day!

Saturday, March 6, 2010

I am a little bit behind. I usually write in the blog first thing in the morning. Today Grandpa and I took the day off because we weren't feeling well. The one thing we have done today is to give Buster a much needed bath. Our main bathroom in the house works really well for that. The shower has a hose sprayer head. Buster does much better than Muffie ever did during a bath. He just stands there, and doesn't make a sound. Oh, and another thing that Grandpa did today was to clean up after Buster outside.

Grandpa is sounding better so I am hoping that our decision to rest today did the trick, and he is getting over whatever it was he had.

We finished a book we were reading this morning, and now we are watching some shows on the Hallmark station. The show we are watching now is "The Wishing Well".

For dinner tonight we are going to have a tossed salad topped with garlic & herb chicken. Grandpa is putting it together for us. I sure love Grandpa, he is such a good man!!

Friday, March 5, 2010

Here it is another morning. Grandpa and I found out yesterday that neither one of us are over whatever "bug" that has gotten hold of us. We ended up going to bed early last night.

Grandpa went to work yesterday and worked on the Lucy Mack Smith home. He said that there is so much more work to be done in the house. He will be working there again today. One of the things that he found as he was checking out things, is that a big part of the bottom of the side door is all rotted out! So that is going to have to be fixed.

After work yesterday Grandpa went to have a key made at Walmart. While there he decided to have the car oil and lubed. He said that we were 2000 miles over what we sould have been. For us to drive that much means it has been quite awhile since it was done.

We decided to have Grandpa pick up one of our favorite quick dinners. He stopped at "First Wok", and got their Chicken and Mushrooms. It was yummy as usual.

After dinner we watched "NCIS" on the laptop and then we went to bed for the night.

Yesterday, I looked online to see if I could find information on my great, great, great, grandfather. I had heard so many contradictory stories, that I wanted to find something that was documented. I found a first hand account written by William McClure Lemon. It was really neat to read this account. One thing that was interesting as I was looking, is that the last name Lemon was spelled three different ways in other things I looked up! It was spelled, Leamon, Lemmon, and of course the way it is supposed to be spelled, Lemon. Maybe it changed to our spelling of Lemon, about then. I think that I only have records back to William McClure's father, and maybe that is why. I will have to do some more research.

Today I go to the pool. I am really looking forward to that. I miss when I don't get there to exercise.

Thursday, March 4, 2010

Today, Grandpa is feeling a little better. He says his voice isn't back, but the congestion in his chest is doing better. He is out fixing breakfast now. Buster is "helping". At work today, Grandpa is going to be working on the Lucy Mack Smith home. He started it the other day and now he needs to go and get it finished. There is alot of work to complete there.

Grandpa and I, were able to get everything ready for our taxes to be done. Grandpa will drop the information off today in Nauvoo. Betty Martin, the owner of "Martin's Accounting", does our taxes every year. I am just grateful it is done! I was also able to get everything from last year filed, so now it it ready to be put in a box to be stored, LOL. Now I can just start the process over for this year.

We both got some much needed rest yesterday. Grandpa took a long nap in the morning and I took a long nap in the afternoon. We were supposed to be watching a movie together, and I don't remember much from the movie, because I fell asleep right off, but grandpa watched the movie. Buster took a nap with me.

It is 20 degrees outside and it is supposed to be sunny, getting up to 40 degrees! Spring must be coming!!!

Wednesday, March 3, 2010

Well yesterday didn't turn out quite like I had planned. Not too far into my morning I realized I just wasn't feeling well. I got the bills out and started sorting thru the things that needed filing in the office that I am so far behind in, and working on getting the things ready so we can have our taxes done. When Glenda came over we just talked for a little while, and I told her not to worry about doing anything. She was fixing dinner for Sisters Hugano, and Dalton. I sent some pie and icecream home with her so she would have something easy for dessert. When she left I just rested. While I was getting the bills done I called the phone company to see if there was a cheaper deal on my package I could get. With our phone package we we get the highspeed internet, unlimited free long distance (because everything outside of Hamilton is long distance), and dish network for the tv. Well dish network went up over $4 a month. The phone company forwarded my call to them and they told me about a family plan that would be cheaper. Well it will save me money, but I lost a few stations I liked, but I gained the Hallmark stations, and that is good. One of the main stations I was worried about was the BYU station, and we still have that. We lost the BYU radio station. In fact we lost all our music stations. That was sad because Grandpa liked to have the soft music at night when he was trying to go to sleep. I guess we have to take the good with the bad in this situation!

Grandpa is staying home from work today. He is snoring, I mean sleeping right beside me. :) Yesterday when he came home from work he wasn't feeling to well. He even stayed home from YM's. You know he really doesn't feel well if he misses meetings or work! Hopefully the sleep today will do him some good.

Grandpa is really getting the hang of his palm pilot. I think once he gets used to it, he will really enjoy it.

I should be going to the pool today, but I still am not feeling as well as I should, so I think that I will just stay home with Grandpa, and rest. Buster is resting with us too.

Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Yesterday when Grandpa went to the Pendleton School to oil the floors, he found that the bathroom there was in poor shape, so he had to take care of that yesterday too. Even with working on the bathroom he was able to get about half of the floors done. Today he will go and finish over there before he starts on a new project. His next project will be at the Lucy Mack Smith Home.

Today my friend Glenda is coming over. She is one of my Vistiting Teachers and wants to do some service for me. She decided that she would come over for a couple of hours on Tuesdays to do any cleaning project or ironing that I may have for her to do. She is a really big help! Today though, we are going out to Dr Odell's. He is a Chiropractor. He has added some programs on to his Chiropractic business to help people lose weight, and to feel better. We have appointments out there today. Glenda has decided it doesn't fit in her budget to do any of the programs, but wants to take me anyway. My appointment today is to decide what he could do for me. He claims he can take all the swelling out of my legs so that they won't be so painful. It would be great, but I have to find out how much he would charge me for the process. He did say that if he can't bring my legs down to normal size that he wouldn't charge me anything. Well, we will see how I feel about things after I see what he has to offer.

Yesterday evening Jacob and Tally stopped by. They brought Maggie to have a play date with Buster. Jacob & Tally had some grocery shopping to do and thought it would be a great time for Maggie and Buster to get to know each other better before she comes to stay with us when Tally has her surgery this month. Maggie and Buster did great together. At first Buster was growling, but then he settled right now and they did fine.

We worked a little more with Grandpa's palm pilot. We are beginning to get it figured out. We were actually able to enter in all the birthdays, and anniversaries for our family.

Monday, March 1, 2010

Can you believe it, today is the 1st of March already?! Pretty soon the flowers will be coming up and Spring will be in full bloom! The cold and snow will be gone, and it will be WARM!!!!! We are looking forward to that!

Sunday morning Grandpa went home teaching. His companion and him go home teaching to 5 families. They had two visits to make, but they are in the same home here in Hamilton. They had already been able to visit the other 3 families. I have 3 sisters that I visit teach, but I have been given a letter route. Each month I make a card and put the message in it, and send to 3 sisters in the ward. I also have fun sending one to Great Grandma Lemon.

When Grandpa got home, we started on the program for Sacrament meeting. I had already worked on it some. We had lots of announcements to put in. One exciting announcement was that for our Stake Conference next month we are having 2 General Authorities come visit! Elder Holland, of the Quorum of the Twelve, and Elder Hansen of the Seventy.

This week's Sacrament meeting was done by the Seminary students in our ward. They had six speakers and a musical number. They all did a wonderful job, and it was a very uplifting meeting.

Today Grandpa will be working on the Pendleton School. As you can see by the picture it is a very small building, but it takes alot of time because he has to oil all the floors.

I will be going to the pool today. I am looking forward to getting back in the water! An interesting thing that I found out about this pool, is that they don't use cholrine, they use salt! I had never heard of this before.

Yesterday Grandpa was given a palm pilot! We were going to go buy him one as a gift for his birthday and for completing and getting an A in his Business Management class he took. Now we just need to figure out how to use it.
