Sunday instead of going to our church meetings Grandpa and I went to the Nauvoo 1st Ward's meetings.  Sabrina had called and asked if we would come so we could hear her sing in Sacrament Meeting with the Primary for Father's Day.  After the meeting started, the meeting was turned over to the Stake President to take care of some business.  President Church released the Bishopric and announced the new Bishopric.  The new Bishop is Casey Cluff, who is Grandpa's boss at Nauvoo Facilities.  His first counselor is Matt Jones.  Matt and Cami really wanted us to be there for Matt being sustained and ordained to the Bishopric, and it worked great when Sabrina wanted to call and invite us to hear her sing.  It was so wonderful to be there.  What a powerful Spirit was felt in that room!
I need to mention, we met with our Home Teachers before the Sacrament Meeting started so that they could give Grandpa and I Priesthood blessings.  They were very beautiful blessings, which gave us a lot of comfort for things to come.

Monday Tally called and said that she and Jacob wanted to bring over brownies, and get Chinese food from First Wok.  Matt and Cami showed up with their kids and so we got enough food for everyone.  We found out that the brownies and the Chinese food was a gift for Grandpa and I from Jason and Rachael.  So they paid for our food, Jacob and Tally's.  We paid for Matt and Cami's family.  It  was so much fun being all together.  We had fun up until the time Buster got startled and snapped at Sydney and bit her.  He didn't draw blood, but it was hard enough to hurt!  I felt so bad.

Yesterday Grandpa and I went down to Quincy Medical Group for his pre-op.  We actually got to meet Dr. Reynolds.  He seems like a really nice man.  He has performed over 4000 of these surgeries.  He also said that this particular surgery that he is doing on Grandpa is is favorite to do.  It gave us a lot of comfort to hear this.  After Grandpa finished up with his labs we decided to go out for lunch.  We went to Tiramisu. For the first part of our meal we had the whole restaurant to ourselves.  It reminded me of the movies when a couple are going out for a romantic meal and the man reserves the restaurant just for them.  During our meal the restaurant began to fill up, so the illusion quickly vanished.  We had a great meal and really enjoyed being out together.  After lunch we ran a few errands and decided to get a soft pretzel from Sam's Club.  We both really enjoy them.  After we got home we started planning how we are going to move things around in the house to be able to incorporate all of Josh and Brenda's things.  Grandpa moved the piano into the front foyer area.  It fit great.  After moving the piano we realized the the sheers in the living room were filthy, so Grandpa put them in the was.  We both wondered if they would actually come out in one piece.  We were very happy when they came out of the dryer all clean and looking like new.  When I was on the computer I noticed that BYU's Vocal Point was in town, so we decided to go.  We had to be in Nauvoo by about 6:00 so we could be there to get a good seat at the outdoor theater.  We decided to go to the whole evenings entertainment which started with the Nauvoo Brass Band, then came Sunset by the Mississippi, and ended with Vocal Point.  The evening was very entertaining.  We both came home exhausted but we were glad we went.  What a wonderful day!
For the picture with this entry I decided to put a picture of Dr Reynolds.

It has almost been a whole year since I have been to the blog. I have decided to make some changes and start doing better. You may see that I have now changed the title of my blog. Maybe this new title will help me write more often. I just celebrated my 53rd birthday yesterday! I am now over a half century old! That seems really odd to think about! I used to think 53 was quite old, but I have changed my mind. Last year I was so spoiled when all the kids and grandkids came to celebrate my birthday with me. This year I decided I was just not going to think about having a birthday, because I knew it would be easier since we all wouldn't be together this year. You know it, I was wrong in my thinking because even though not everyone was able to be here in person, I still had a wonderful birthday. The phone calls were all GREAT! Jacob and Tally, and even Maggie came for lunch on Sunday.really had a fun time together. On Monday afternoon my Visiting Teachers stopped in to bring some soup and some goodies and a card. Later that afternoon when Grandpa came home from work he asked if I would enjoy going out to the family room to watch a movie. I thought that sounded like fun. I had just gotten myself settled in the recliner when I noticed a familiar car pull in our driveway, Matt and Cami and their kids came and brought in dinner and a birthday cake and surprised me. Grandpa knew all about it and had been planning it with them. So yes this year I was spoiled too, just in a different way. Oh, yes, I can't forget the many birthday wishes on Facebook. One more birthday wish I just have to mention is; on Sunday my whole Bishopric came to my house with a card and a balloon and sang Happy Birthday to me! Ok, I have one more thing I need to tell you about that happened for my birthday and then I will be through. Grandpa tried to tease me the morning of my birthday. Normally he gives me a card first thing when I wake up. This year he didn't give me one. When I opened up my lunchbox at lunchtime there it was! Silly Grandpa! I sure love him! The picture I chose to put with this entry is one of the ones that was posted on Facebook. Lisa Miller used to come and play Wii Bowling with me before she moved, so this picture made me smile!
