Yesterday was a really great day. We started off just slowly getting our day going. While on the computer we were able to talk to Brenda. Matt got a new laptop, and so we did a web cam visit with their family. It is always nice when we can talk to the family!

After we got ourselves ready we went to the Temple. What a beautiful spirit there is in the Temple! What a privilege it is to go and participate in the ordinances there!

We went to a baptism right after the Temple. It was for a young man who was just converted. The sister missionaries have been teaching him. He lives in Carthage.

Grandpa wanted to stop in at the Arrival Center. He was given the responsibility to finish the wood counter top in the entryway. He worked on it and gave the assignment to Elder Vedeto to complete. The counter top turned out beautifully. The whole Arrival Center is beautiful! It is a place for people who have been traveling to shower if they need to and to change before going over to the Temple. It is also a place for members of the family who cannot enter the Temple to wait for family while they are being married or doing Temple work. Also if the weather is bad, they can move a couch and there is a window where the Bride and Groom and stand and have the Temple in the background for pictures. When you all come here again we will have to show you, so you can see for yourselves!

Then we went to visit Great Grandpa and Grandma Pierce. We wanted to see if they would like to go have lunch at a place in Nauvoo that we had just heard about. When we got to their place, and asked them if they wanted to go out to eat lunch there, we found out that they had just gotten home, but before they got home, they had already stopped and eaten at that very same place! They asked us to stay and fed us homemade chicken noodle soup and a salad! Everything tasted yummy!

By the time we got home I was exhausted! Grandpa wanted to move our bed over just a little so that we could put the garbage can on my side of the bed, between the nightstand and the bed. This sounds like a little project, but actually it was a bigger project than you think. In order to do this Grandpa had to take the mattresses off the bed. He had to do this so that he could get to the drawer units underneath and move them. After he got that done, then he had to put the mattresses back on. It worked great. The garbage can is between the nightstand and the bed, so now Buster won't get into it and it is not falling over all the time. Grandpa is always doing good things to help out around here!

Grandpa and I still need to get the program ready for Sacrament Meeting today. I was called to do the program, and Grandpa is in the Bishopric, and one of his assignments is to make sure that the program is done right. So it works out great!

We love Sundays. We love the Spirit at Church! We are so thankful that Heavenly Father gave us the opportunity to go to Church and partake of the Sacrament and be filled with such a wonderful spirit each week!

It is Saturday morning. Grandpa is in the kitchen making him a waffle for breakfast. (He has already brought me in some toast and filled my water glass so that I can take my medications this morning. I am really trying to be good and do what I need to do, to help my body work right! :)

Yesterday after Lisa and I went to the pool we stopped at Walmart to pick up some things. We both wanted to pick something up for Nanette, because like I mentioned she has been needing to rest. Lisa bought a pizza, and I bought some Dove's Dark chocolate's. Nanette was surprized, and very thankful for the gifts. After we did our time in the sauna, Lisa and I stayed to help Nanette on a project she was doing on the computer. Nanette has a whole new running system than either of us has ever worked with, so everything seemed really foreign to us! After a couple of hours we had it figured out. Lisa had to go, but I decided to just stay a little longer because Grandpa was going to stop by on the way home to look at a mantel they had to see if he could figure out what type of wood it was. While I was there, Jacob and Tally called. (Jacob & Tally, and Grandpa and I were going to go out later today to celebrate Tally's and Grandpa's birthdays) they wanted to go out that evening instead, so we went out last night. We went to a place in Warsaw. The name of the restaurant that we went to is "The Brewery". It was a nice place and we all enjoyed the food. First off we ordered some breaded mushrooms, super nachos, and BBQ buffalo wings. For our entree's, Jacob & Tally had the BBQ pulled pork sandwiches and Grandpa and I shared an order of Ribeye steak with a salad, and homemade potato chip. Everything was YUMMY!

Grandpa and I are planning on going to the Temple this morning! We really love to have the opportunity to be able to go. It is great that the Temple is so close!

When we get back from going to the temple, our plans are to declutter our bedroom, and to get the program done for church tomorrow. Then our plan is to just enjoy the rest of the day. But we will see how things go, it seems our plans are always very flexible. Like Grandpa is always saying, "A rubber band has nothing on me!"

Yesterday Grandpa patched up the window sills where they were cracking to get them ready for him to paint. He had to use caulking in the cracks and it
takes awhile for that to dry. So today he is will be able to paint all the window sills. As you can see from the picture there are alot of window sills, and you can only see the windows on the front side of the house.
After he got all the caulking done on the window sills he worked on the handrail going up the stairs in the John Taylor home. He had to scrape off all the old layers of paint before he could even start painting it. It was a real messy job. There were flakes of paint all over from scraping!

I was supposed to be getting the stuff ready to have our taxes done yesterday, but I ended up working on this blog all day! It is amazing how long it took me to get things figured out, and find pictures and get things posted. You may have noticed 2 websites that I have listed. One is for the Mormon Messages that is done by the church. On this site there are some really neat, short, inspirational videos that you can watch. The other site is also done be the church, it is for kids and has all sorts of fun stuff.
Today I get to go to the pool again. When I come back from there, I will have to finish
getting everything ready to take in to Martin's Accounting where we get our taxes done. When we take all our information to them, they make sure that we have paid enough taxes, or if we have paid too much.

We just finished eating breakfast. Buster is whining because he wants us to share with him. He really enjoys eating small pieces of toast that we give him. He thinks that when we eat, he has to have what we have. Buster even likes dill pickles!

We are now going to have our scripture time. We are reading from Mosiah chapter 23 and 24. We enjoy reading from the Book of Mormon, it is a good way to start our day. It seems that everytime we read the Book of Mormon we learn something new.

We sure love you all and hope that you have a really great day!

Grandpa just left for work. He told me that today he was going to work on the John Taylor home. Grandpa loves his job because he gets to work on all these historical sites for the church.

Well, I made it to the pool yesterday, and went to Roland and Nanette's to do their spa. But when we got there, we found that Nanette was sick in bed. She is expecting a baby and her body needed some rest so that things would be ok. Lisa and I went up to her room and sat and talked to her for awhile. After we finished talking to Nanette we went to use their sauna. Hanna, who is Roland and Nanette's daughter, helped get everything set up for us.

Today, I am just going to stay home. I need to get everything ready so that we can get our taxes done. I got really far behind in keeping my bank statements up, so it has made alot of work for me now, to get things ready! That should teach me a good lesson; I need to stay caught up each month, instead of waiting until the end of the year!

Again we are having cold weather, but the sun is out and that is nice. With the windchill it is about 9 degrees outside right now! We are suppose to get up to about 30 degrees this afternoon. Buster doesn't really like the snow and the cold either. He only stays out for just a little bit and then he wants right back in.

Good morning!

Grandpa has already left for work this morning. In fact he is probably painting as we speak. Well, maybe not right now, but he will be shortly. He starts work at 7:00 am with Prayer mtg, one of the nice things about working for the church. I think that if more companies would incorporate something like this to begin their day with, that things would run much smoother for them too. After prayer mtg. he assigns the work out to his paint crew, so they all have assignments for the day to keep them busy. Grandpa's crew consist of himself and then mostly of missionaries, who have been assigned to work at NRI. Grandpa has been given a white van to use at work, to carry all his supplies in that he uses during the day.
I am hoping to be able to go to the pool to exercise this morning. If the roads are good, I will be leaving in just a few hours. This silly body of mine is really getting stiff and sore, and needs this exercise to keep it moving! :) I am so thankful that the gift of going to the pool was made available so that I could do this! I go to the pool with my friend Lisa. She picks me up just before 10:00 am. We do our water aerobics for about an hr. After that we reward ourselves with a little time in the sauna at the YMCA. Then we stop in at Roland and Nanette's, cousins of ours. They have an infrared sauna, which is supposed to be very beneficial. We spend some time in their sauna too, and also enjoy talking to Nanette while we are there. By the time I get home it is almost 2:00 pm! Our plan is to do this on Mon, Wed, and Friday's. But since we started this at the first of the month, I don't think we have made it 3 times a week yet! We have had Dr appts, and bad weather that has got in the way! But we are getting there as much as possible.
Friday was Grandpa's birthday, so on the way home from the pool we stopped at Walmart so that I could pick up all the things I needed to make a special dinner for him. I as was so glad that Lisa could do that for me, since I am not able to drive anymore and couldn't get to the store to buy all the stuff I needed to surprise Grandpa.
Grandpa was surprised, and he really enjoyed the dinner. We had salmon, and roasted veggies and potato wedges, and garlic toast. We had a chocolate cream pie for dessert. We ate dinner and watched the olympics. It was a great evening! Grandpa loved his birthday and enjoyed talking to all his kids that day!

It is supposed to be a sunny nice day today, but I just looked at the temperature this morning and it is 4 degrees outside. I just don't understand it. Ok, now this is really sad, I just checked the temperature again and it is 3 degrees. I first checked it an hour ago. I thought as the day wore on it is supposed to get warmer not colder! This is just silly, that is all I can say!

Hello! Today is a sunny day here and the snow is beginning to melt.
